If you can't trust Honest Abe, who can you trust?

Abraham Lincoln wants to play a friendly game of poker, but he uses dice

Three common dice sit in the middle for everyone to see. You and Abe each have two hidden from each other. Time to see who has the strongest hand!

How to play

  • Claim: Select a poker hand rank - it has to beat Abe's last claim, but it does not have to be true.
  • Reroll: Pay to roll both your private again, but watch out! It gets pricier every time.
  • Call Bluff: Accuse Abe of lying about his hand. If you are right, the pot is yours. But if you are wrong, it costs you an additional 50% in penalty.
  • Fold: Walk away from the round and live to lie another day.

Take every one of Abe's chips to win.

Hand rankings are shown right in the UI, so no poker knowledge is required.

Abe is a very sore loser.

I absolutely loved this! The concept of "poker with dice" is incredibly creative and something I've never seen before. The bluffing mechanic fit the jam's theme perfectly, and the mix of 2D and 3D art was executed so well. To top it off, the soundtrack was fantastic and really tied the whole atmosphere together. (Also, Abe pulling a gun on me at the end was hilarious and awesome).

On a separate note, I'm currently putting together a small server to connect with other passionate game devs, artists, programmers, and composers to share projects and collaborate. I realized you actually took the time to leave really thoughtful feedback on my Brackeys Jam entries both this year and last year! I really appreciated the effort you put into your comments, so I wanted to reach out and see if you'd be interested in joining. Let me know!

Thanks for playing through the game! I appreciate the comment too. Ngl, the image of Abe with the gun still cracks me up! We thought it would fit the theme to have him mug you after the game lol.

Thanks for the invite to the server, that sounds like a great community to be a part of. My discord is checkmate.101 (though I may have privacy set to high to be found lol)

And yes, I remember your jam entry from last year too - that was a great one. Super funny and well written.

Hey awesome! I'm having trouble adding you; you say you're not accepting friend requests. My user is MostlyMagic 377643933372776449, and that's my discord user number. Feel free to add me if you ever get time. But awesome, excited to have you!

How fun!  It took me a few tries to get used to the game, but I finally won!

Congrats! It's not easy to out-bluff Abe

this is a really fun take on the theme and applies it well. i love the music and it's also really cool to see another dice rolling game. i didn't manage to take all the chips but i got close. overall, very cool and enjoyable well done :)

Thanks! I need to try out your dice-rolling entry as well.

btw, I just posted a bunch of bugfixes, so if your last run didn't go so well due to UI weirdness or incorrect hands being calculated, I hope you can beat Abe if you try again :)
